The ICA Slam Team is a youth spoken word writing and performance program offered free of charge to high school students. Participants meet weekly to write, practice, and perform their own original work and explore the power of their own voices.
Over the course of the school year, participants will work with spoken word mentors to develop their own writing and performance skills, attend multiple open mic youth forums in the Boston area, perform at ICA Teen Nights, and ultimately compete as a team in the annual Louder than a Bomb Youth Poetry Festival in the spring.
