Video Boot Camp - Summer 2010
Charles LeDray's exhibit of miniatures was the inspiration behind this year's Video Boot Camp productions.
His tiny intricate sculptures and doll-sized clothing brought back a feeling of nostalgia for childhood. After discussing childhood memories as a class, three themes were created and groups were formed based on deeper exploration of these themes by creating story lines and then scripts. The themes were: Loss of Innocence, Childhood Fears, and Growing Out. This project was also inspired by LeDray aesthetically in that the stories created by the students had to be conceived and shot in hand made diorama- esque sets so that the sense of childhood was also portrayed visually.
