Video Project Ideas

Idea 1
I could make a visual piece to my sound project if it actually turns out well. I was thinking of taking still images or short clips of something related to each sound, then playing them back in different parts of the screen and doing cool stuff with them. Or maybe just make something strange that would just go with the beat.

Idea 2
I would film about 30 minutes of driving around, then play it back fast. I would also film some close ups of a bunch of different signs that you would find on the sides of the road. I could narrate something, or just include sound effects, but in a really strange, surreal way.

Idea 3
Take a bunch of really short clips of every day actions and play them in a kinda choppy way and try to do foley stuff for a lot of them. It would basically show an average day.

hey jonah! these are all great ideas!
because you have such an awesome audio project going right now i would be really interested to see that put to visuals. this way you could keep working on the audio and enhancing it with some wild surreal video clips as maybe a portrait of the city we live in.
i think you are really inventive and have a lot of great ideas of how to work with audio and i would really like to see you go further with it. so in that same vein i also really love your third idea for playing with the art of foley sound. that is something that i have always been interested in too so maybe i just think you should do it for personal reasons. but either way it could be super fun and there are so many possibilities and roads you could go down with that! i like the idea too of keeping the video simple and of a familiar theme. what do you know better than what you do during the day? nothing! the real interesting part will be the sound composition and so far you have proved to be a great composer! what are some of the actions that you would include for the every day activities? you would have to choose things that would make for good sound effects... also it would be interesting and maybe more surreal if when making the sound effects you used different materials so that the motion and the sound synced up but the actual sound itself was a little different. so for example if you were to make a sound effect for someone cutting vegetables you could sync up when the knife would be hitting the cutting board but you actually make the sound by clanging two pieces of metal together. or if you were to show someone typing on a computer keyboard you use the sound effects of someone typing on a typewriter... just an idea!
can't wait to talk to you more about this one... im so excited! i'll also keep looking for cool movie examples of how this is used!
LENORA

I was thinking of doing stuff like brushing your teeth and going to class and eating/preparing food. I really like the idea of using slightly different sounds, like for brushing teeth, I could have someone brushing wood or something. I think that would be really surreal, but still be a simple topic. I think of I didn't do that I would combine the first and second idea, so it would be a really weird dream-like sequence of driving through the city in slow motion, but then for every noise in my song, some object or action would pop up.
I'm not quite sure yet.

I agree with lenora. I like the idea of you building off of your sound piece ,but I also think that combining ideas 1 and 3 could be cool. If you take various events during the day, depict them with stills in various parts of the screen, and that can be directed by the sound design that you create. Somewhat like light control by Romek Rasenas.
