Journey to Change Treatment

Michael Pacheco is a Puerto Rican/Irish male who grew up as the minority in the Worcester projects. He speaks of his childhood, random stories beginning from when he was younger progressively getting older. The stories will overlap, 2 or 3 at a time, though the main one in focus will be extremely prominent and easy to hear. Accompanying the audio will be visuals of children playing, him speaking, or photographs that relate to what is being said.
Michael will talk about violence and how it was an everyday part in his life. He will speak about how this affected him and he will tell a story or two. He will also talk about alcoholism and how it relates to violence and his life. There will be appropriate visuals that will accompany the audio. He will then begin to talk about aspects that changed his life when he was in the army. More visuals will be given, along with facts about the change in his life. He will talk more about his life, then he will begin to talk about the birth of his first and only daughter, me. He will talk about his aspirations for me and tell stories about him and I as I was a child.
He will then begin to speak about his life now that he is a father and he will reflect on his past, experiences that make him who he is and the happenings that have stuck with him throughout his life. By the end of the film the audience will know most about the consequences Michael faced that still directly affect him.

Beginning: Will be black & white
Michael is talking about his childhood through stories. Stories of him and friends, his mother and father and what he saw as a child. Some stories will be miscellaneous to show define the character and allow the audience to understand him more. Childhood pictures will be shown in accordance. There will be some interviewing of his older and younger sister and what they thought as children. They will be recorded as they speak whereas the main character will not. His sisters will provide even more insight to Michael as a child than he has shared.

Michael will then talk about the most crucial years of his life, his teenage years. He will tell stories about his involvement with drugs, how it started and how it affected him. We will hear stories about his relationship with his mother and father. Once again, his sisters will tell some stories from a different perspective and in some cases will elaborate on what he has shared. We will hear stories of how he felt and in some instances we will hear stories of his friends and the crazy stuff they did. Michael will talk about school and how/why he entered the army.

(The shots will return to regular black and white)
Michael will share what he found while in the army and the mood will change. It will mostly be about what he thought of what he learned. What the doctors and others said. How others were affected by what he learned and also how others lived/dealt with the same thing he had.
