Spoken Word

In this six-week after-school workshop, teens write, perform, and digitally record their own spoken word. Participants will pick up basic writing tips and learn alternative ways to present their work using the latest digital software, all while meeting some of Boston’s most prominent teen spoken word artists. Teens will also visit the ICA galleries to see how poetry inspires contemporary artists. All participants will have an opportunity to perform their final works for friends and family at the ICA on Wednesday, May 5 at 5pm.

Free for BPS students
$250 general public
$200 members
($10 Required lab fee for all digital studio workshop students)

Open to high school students ages 14-18
No prior experience necessary
