questions.

I really need to start blogging more.
Unfortunatly because of the snowdays and being sick I wasn't able to get the equpiment out in order to start on the interviews, however I plan to begin ASAP.
I'm still not exactly sure how I plan to use the interviews, whether for inspiration, voiceovers, documentary, or narrative segments. Even though I feel like I should have more of a plan, maybe I just need to play it by ear and let the inspiration come when it comes.
I'm interested in not just interviewing adults, but teenagers as well, to see the differences in the responses and what they value in life.
Some questions I'm considering:
• What do you think as you look back on your life?
• Are you happy with what happened to you and the choices you made?
• Is there something you would have done differently?
• What has influenced you to make the choices in your life that you did?
• What do you still want to accomplish?
• What was the best day of your life, why?
• Worst day?
• What advice would you give someone entering adulthood? (adults only)
I'm also very interested in family history/stories and how people think that their family history has affected them, whether experiences directly or just from hearing stories from their parents or grandparents. I'm interested in perhaps discovering the intergenerational qualities within a family through stories.

Hi Hazel,
I hope you feel better! We missed you last class.

I love your idea of looking at how one's family history can impact them and doing an intergenerational film. Let's definitely talk in class today. Do you have in mind people/a family you'd want to interview?

I'm interested in

I'm interested in interviewing my Mom, Dad, Stepmom, Grandparents (mom and dads side) and perhaps even my great grandparents (dads side). One thing I noticed is that my parents, my moms parents and my dads parents all got divorced when their children were very young and are remarried. I think it would be interesting getting the different perspectives from each of the parents, and depending on how much they would reveal, it could be really dramatic to see what they have to say about eachother and their relationship. My great grandparents are still together and have been married since they were young. It would be interesting to see the contrast with the older generation and why they believe their relationship lasted and if they have any regrets about the way things turned out.

I don't want the film to be only about relationships, but I think it will definatly make it interesting. I'm also curious in finding out about their experiences when they were younger and comparing them to my own. A couple days ago I was talking to my Dad and he was telling me stories about going to Greatful Dead concerts and hitchhiking home from them. They were really funny and interesting. I'm hoping to take out some recording equipment tomorrow so I can get started interviewing my parents and also setting up interviews with my family that lives out of town.
