New Idea

I decided to consider another idea for my final piece. My new idea is to interview people of all ages answering the question, "What do you hope President Obama will address/deal with in his term of office?" and why they think this is an important issue. I have sensed so much excitement and hope about Obama's election and I think it would be really interesting to query people and get a sense of what people care about. The issue with this idea is I think just having a series of people's responses would end up not being very interesting. I am interested in any ideas people have about how to build on this idea.

Hey Alla,
Any way you can get yourself into the inauguration???? (And if you can, can you smuggle me with you??) :)

I love your idea of building on the excitement about Obama and doing a film about his upcoming presidency. I don't know about you, but I always find documentaries most interesting when they follow one or two individuals as they are DOING something or are about to reach a big turning point. So I'm wondering if you can find someone - either through an organization at your school or in the area - who is an Obama supporter working toward something (whether that's garnering support for one of his causes, holding a fundraiser, etc.). Know what I'm sayin'? Then you could intersperse your vox pop-y interviews with people of all ages throughout your piece. We can talk more! I'll be in late today, but will see you there.
