Muslim life in America

ALRIGHT, SO
I have been working on a project for "one nation many voices" It is a more formal documentairy of different types of people in Americas views towards Islam. So far its been excelent. I have writen over 40 questions to ask different people for their different responses. I have done seven interviews or so, I still have several interviews to do, and after that comes the editing which will take much longer. I feel like this is probably the most important project I have worked on so far this year and I am talking my time to make it the best i can in the time frame i have. Its also taking up all my time right now along with all this other work i have to do. My work load is that of Santa on Christmas. (I use this santa example because Christmas is nearing.)

Hey Santa!
Man you are really bulldozing through this project! I am so glad and impressed to hear about all the progress that you have made. I think the editing process is a much more meditative and soothing one where you get to reflect on everything you have learned and seen. From what you have been saying, it seems as though you have been learning a lot and becoming more involved and intrigued by this topic than maybe you initially thought you would. Each interview you have is like a different color on your palette for you to paint this brilliant technicolor story for us. As much as I love Mr. Tan, I'm even more excited to see how you approach a more serious subject matter. Even though your time frame is short, don't worry! Take a deep breath and be proud that you have given yourself so much footage to work with! Something I like to do before I start editing is write down on lots of note cards all the different shots I have. Then I tape them to my wall in different groups based on things each note card has in common. This can be visually or thematically. I make sure this is a wall I am going to be seeing a lot. This way for a few days I can look at it, think about it, and let it incubate in my brain. Then at some point, when you least expect it, in the shower, on the train, when you're about to fall asleep... an idea is born! And you know exactly what you need to do in order to tell this story the best way possible!
Can't wait to hear/ see more!
Also thanks for being so awesome and enthusiastic about posting lots of things on your blog! Never stop!
