Response to Mentor Grant Evaluations Feedback
i want to thank all the reviewers for taking the time to look at my proposal.
Comments to each reviewer :
Reviewer A:
Visually, i want this to be very clean. I'm giving Edwin total freedom on his part of the film. He was a completely different style from mine and i want that to show in the film. While we hear my voice, my actions will be showed on screen. I'm going to try my hardest to reenact these important times in my life. While that is going on, i don't want it to be too busy (because its split screen) and i don't want the audience to have to "pick" what side of the screen they have to pay attention too. I'm still trying to figure that part out.
Reviewer B:
a trip to UMASS Amherst is $41.00 via Amtrack.
I will spend another 20$ on food and the rest on the MBTA shooting my B-Roll.
Reviewer C:
Yes, my voice overs will be letters. To answer your questions :
-What happens to them?
Edwin eventually sees a change in himself and other around him. And as for myself, i have a life-changing event happen. i don't want to give too much details. we'll save that for the film!
-Is there any kind of epiphany for either of them?
yes. it comes to a point where they both realize one thing in particular.
-Does their friendship change?
It grows stronger.
Reviewer D:
Thank you very much. its words like these that make me keep going!
Reviewer E:
-Are the letters already written?
Yes, we started this process back in September. We didn't originally plan to make this into a film but somehow it came up in one of the letters and it seemed to fit.
-Are they letters or e-mails?
Old school letters! its much much more personal that way.
-I love the tension between becoming an adult and being treated like a child. How will you show it?
I plan to do this with my shots. IF the camera is tiled down on me and its tilted up on my mother (lets say we were arguing) The choice of camera angle will make me look smaller while making my mother look tall and in charge of the situation. That's just one idea that i have.

Hi Yesenia, Thanks for all
Hi Yesenia,
Thanks for all your detailed comments about your proposal. According to the timeline in your proposal, you would be well into post-production by now. Do you have any clips or a rough-cut, etc. that you could post? Let me know how I can help as a mentor--I'm excited to see your new work!
Best wishes,
Jared
