I want to do the experience of attending a concert, but I'd need permission for a song. I might be going to a concert on the 15th, where I could get permission. If I don't go, I don't really know what I want to do.

Let's keep exploring this. Are you definitely attending the concert. Even if you don't get permission, there is so much about attending a concert that would be great as a sound piece. Waiting in line would be a cool sound piece. start by thinking of all the sounds you would associate with this piece. And also write an email to the band asking for permission.

I like the idea of showing your concert-going experience without having to include the band playing-- that seems a little too obvious, perhaps. If you want to include the pre-concert, concert and post-concert experience, just make sure you get permission from the band. If you don't get permission, there is still a lot of material to work with from the experience.

I agree with Joe and Anna. Some of the most interesting parts of your idea could be everything but the band playing - I like the idea of capturing the experience of waiting in line for a show. There's always so much energy, waiting to get in, and it's often a communal experience. Could be really cool! What sounds would you include?

That's a good idea. I'm definitely going to do pre- and post-concert sounds. I would love to do the sounds during the concert if I can get permission, but that might be hard. I remember I had trouble getting permission last year and I actually had to meet the band to get permission, and I won't get another chance to meet Breathe Carolina or any band by the time this is do. But I can still work with just the pre- and post-concert sounds. =)
