Ideas for Video

Idea #1: I want to sort of do a small narrative with one character. I want to basically create a scene where they wake up in the morning and go through their normal routine. When they step into the bathroom and wash their hands they realize the soap is missing and start to panic a little. They then wake up again realizing it was just a dream.

Idea #2: I want to show a person or two outside doing things as though they are on some spy mission. They will do things like running from cars, jumping over benches and sidewalk curbs, and hiding behind trees. It is intended to be funny and silly although the actor(s) would have to be in a serious character.

Idea #3: I want to show a fake ritual/ dance with a few people. It will be sort of like some indigenous ritual with a gathering and maybe some special symbolic dance. However the interesting thing about it it will portray a modern like situation (nothing historical). For example, it might be a group of people studying for a test and they do a ritual by maybe crumbling their homework up or something else that's unique.

PETER! Happy new year! missed you man!
Thanks so much for posting ideas! So far I am really into the first and third idea. of course i would want to talk to you more about them because i want to make sure the way i am interpretting this is the same as how you meant it. i really like the first one because to me it seems like a parody of a very cliche film technique (to have someone wake up and it be all a dream) But I think it's hilarious because usually these scenes have some kind of a horrible tragedy that the main character is relieved of by it just being a dream. But if the tragedy is just that the character can't find the soap in the morning it's funny on two levels! It's funny that the main character would lose his cool over there not being any soap available and then that he is relieved to find out that it isn't true. its a brilliantly simple idea.
idea #3 sounds like a ton of fun to make! it's a great opportunity to get a lot of actors involved and really accentuate many different peoples' styles of dancing! those can be some of the most interesting scenes and there is a lot of footage out there to look at for inspiration. I especially love that it is a ritual that has been reappropriated to something that you personally deal with- homework! i love the idea of using things that you are familiar with as the subject for greater ideas!
im excited to talk to you more in class!!
