Video Projection 101 Final Presentations this Wednesday!

Wow four weeks fly by fast. Over the past four week's of the Live Video Projection 101 class have looked at how to mix and mash video in real time using modular environments like Isodara and VJ software like Neuromixer's AVlite and Serato Video.

For source material we've looked at open source moving images available at Archive.org (with the occasional youtube rip) and we've shot footage using the movie function of digital still cameras of things in our every day lives at home we can then process into loops.

And so, this Wednesday will be our final video performances! We'll mix all the video we've prepared with audio of your choosing live and in real time! This means some rehearsal, improvisation, inspiration, and perhaps happy accidents as you debut your skills and a live video projectionist (dare I say VJ).

Come to class at the normal time. Be sure to bring your cameras back if you still have them. We'll take the first hour to organize footage and rehearse mixes, then it's outside to project on the underside of the the building (dramatically photographed above). Spread the word to your family and friends if you'd like them to attend and see your live video performance! They're welcome to hang out and check out the galleries until our performance time at 5pm.

NOTE TO NON-STUDENTS: You'll be able to find us in the back of the ICA building by the deck that overlooks the water (pictured above) starting at 5pm!
