FINAL MOVIE IDEAS 2010: CANTANCUS CRANE AGAINST THE CRUEL CRAB HEAVEN OR HELL LETS ROCK

I am sad that I couldn't post these ideas earlier, but I have them now.

  1. This is a story about a man who gets mysteriously turned into a robot that is only allowed to eat human babies. Its a story about his struggle, and how he must live with this new curse. In order to feed, he must be normal in the day, but a robot monster at night. Hunting for babies in the cover of the shadows. Eventually, the towns people decide he must die and kill him.

  2. A piece with no sound other than background music. This piece tells the story of a person who is just trying to get home as soon as possible, with things going against him. This will be a simple story. I want to focus in more on the sound of certain locations. If I am forced to work on this piece, then I will use the different microphones.

  3. A whole grain snack
    makes me feel gooooood
    makes me want to FILM
that's the way it should be
I'd like to see the whole class working with me
    Fast Forward adds fun
    grab a camera and a
    SMILE

Jian Mei,

I like the first idea, but if you do it i would suggest that you do it stop motion, small scale, or with still imagery. Who is the man? Why is his curse so ironic? Why do the townspeople struggle with their inevitable decision?

Of the first 2 ideas, which are you most into.

The third idea is brilliant!

What you need to do: 1)

jdouillette's picture

What you need to do:

1) Establish your goal that you want the audience to empathize with this person who has to do these horrible things. THe only way we empathize with a character is if we get to know him so how so we can have pity. How do we get to know the character. Here his thoughts?

1) watch some old movies that depict the suggestion of horrible things happening in the shadows: Hunch Back of Notre Dame, Phantom of the opera, The Elephant Man

2) Come up with ways that you can suggest this horrible thing without showing it

3) Find an example of a style you want to emulate. I am seeing, black and white, shadows, long shots... what do you imagine?

4) be ready to change the thing that he has to do
