Documentary Project
Since my last post I've changed my idea of a movie, and i don't even know what the url to m political commercial was about i was a little freaked out by the whole spanish president thing. But i decided now to do a documentary upon this generation and how they live their lives and the way the see the economy and how it affects them. I already have 3 people who are willing to do i who really stood out in my mind. this is a ig transition from a narative piece and what i want to do is try and get into script writing during my free time, I have a few ideas i was to start writing as side projects but i need help starting so if anybody knows anything upon the subject it would be useful to let me know cause I'm having a lot of trouble starting.

Hope you are having a nice break from school and taking advantage of all the free time! Maybe thinking a little little about your final project?
The last time I saw you, you had mentioned being interested in doing a documentary project on the economy and how it effects people your age and in high school. I think this is a great starting point. 1. You are personally interested 2. You can relate to your interviewees 3. It's a current and important issue! Also you already seem to have a start in documentary work from what I've seen in your subway musicians piece. Great work!
So now I guess it's just a matter of figuring out how exactly to approach this issue. Will it be about how the recession will affect the future for people your age or just graduating high school? Will it affect the possibility of them getting jobs in what they studied at school? I actually heard that now is the best time to be in school. Or will the recession not affect high school students a whole lot because they for the most part don't have jobs to lose? I'm not sure either how much Boston specifically has been affected by the recession. Would you only talk to high school students or also to parents and teachers? This topic has a lot of different veins and arteries and I think you can definitely find an interesting one to go down. It's important to come up with a statement so that you can always refer back to it to make sure your project stays on track. Maybe for the next class you can come up with a sort of thesis statement to pitch to the class. That would be great.

Hey Nick!
Just wondering if you had been thinking any more about your project. I didn't get to talk to you in class as much as I would have liked to so I feel a little bit behind. What are you trying to prove through this documentary? What is the statement you want to make? What do you hope to discover?
