different colors my idea

this is my biggest idea please comment on it. my idea is to follow four of my friends to show people how different people act around different area. also how they would act as they different people around themselves. my four friends will be Ricardo, Carmen, julio, and ashley. they all act very different. although they all will be recorded i will only pick the two best. though we're in school this record ing might be rated pg13. there are some classes being recorded with the permission of the teachers. the situation #1 is hummanities 1(english and social studies), sitch #2 algebra 1, #3 is in active physics, #4 is reading com, #5 is in forensics class, then sitch #6 is lunch.

before i start i would state my thesis that many people do not just act emotional or phiscaly but on instict alot more different then they do in different sorroundings. Even without knowing. Then i will start out just to interduce them. just saying this is so and so that you are hearing. before i put the mic on them. then i will have little spots where i comment on what their doing as an example if they where they where to use a phrase alot like that is their catch phrase. then other things like this action is usually what they do in this class but in this class this is what they do here. then a door will slam and i would say that that would be the lead in to the other persons classes. then it would depend on the person but over all the questions would consist of three major.

The first one would be how where your classes like today?

Then the second one would be do you think your behavoir was any different in your classes?

and the third one would be how do you feel when your sorrounded with different these different people you hang around with?

Awesome! This is a really interesting idea! I like your documentary approach and it isn't too often to listen to a documentary!
I have a few questions though because now I am so psyched about your project-----
What are you hoping to show or prove through this project?- is it a study of these peoples' personalities? actions? cultures?
How does recording them in school and these specific classes prove this? (p.s. you are a smarty pants! forensics??!! physics??!! sheesh!)
Are you making this a study of your culture in an urban education setting? Most of your characters seem to be Hispanic also...
Will you be adding an extra audio layers or just editing the information you record at school?
Will you be conducting any interviews? If so I'd love to see a list of questions!
Will you be using yourself as a narrator or doing voice overs to explain along the way? Or make this completely observational for the audience?
Have you ever listened to "This American Life"? It is a radio program on NPR that is fantastic! Every week they pick a theme and then they have people go out and tell stories about it related to the theme. It is considered documentary radio most of the time because people will actually go out and conduct interviews and do research in order to tell the story. When I read your idea I immediately thought of this show! They are a great example of combining information, interviews, music, and most of the time in a really funny way!
Here check this out and let me know what you think or if it helps you solidify how you want to present your idea:

It's a specific episode that I picked out. You can listen to it when you click " FULL EPISODE". The beginning is the intro that the host always gives which has some good stuff. Then there are usually 3 stories after it. Can't wait to talk more!!

joe typing: Write out your first draft of your opening statement. This becomes your thesis.
THe things you need to write are:
Opening Statement
Segue Statements (what are you saying in between each section)
Questions I will ask them after the day of recording
Post this into your blog and email me that you have updated it

Much cleared idea of the

Much cleared idea of the project. I think a couple of other probing questions would be useful. Something like, "Describe your different personalities and tell me when you think they come out." "What is the person that you don't want people to know about?"

Let's talk some more on Thursday, and then make sure I train you on the wireless mic.
