EVAN- TOILET NOTEBOOK
- Beautiful photography and imagery. I really like the order too. I think adding some scenes in color would be really interesting. They should be important images because they will stand out among the rest so you should choose carefully what you are trying to say with the color pictures.
- Great mixture of still and moving image.
- The wonderful thing about this piece is that it is more up to interpretation. It will be interesting to see it with poetry because I am already so attached to it as a silent movie. But I think because the images don’t directly reflect the words it will still hold that dream like experimental feeling and let the audience use their own personal experiences to relate to your piece. This is a really hard thing to pull off and you are doing a superb job old buddy!

Like it even though it had no audio
Love this. Love how there is no sound. So awesome without it.
Almost better that way
Awesome how you cut everything.
You can interpret it in your own way
Very experimental. Like it a lot,
Show your whole year at the ICA.
Love how it allows you to make up your own story.
Leave a lot of room for our interpretation.
Didn’t notice it was black and white. Very effective.
If I were to apply color, would it mess it up?
Maybe add some contrast.

Evan, you are a talented photographer/cinematographer! I loved your piece last year and this year you've built on that... adding moving images to photography. I am looking forward to seeing how you incorporate the poetry.

The way it's cut now, the pictures of Lenora that come in abruptly make it feel like she's your ex (you said this piece was inspired by your ex, right?). Her pics and the repetition of them lend her a larger significance than the others, which seemed more random.

Beautiful!
