PRINCE- OMNICOMPREHENSION
- awesome opening fight scene. I love that he is facing the camera and that it is in black and white which corresponds with other flashbacks throughout the movie. The sound effects are way cool too. Really well shot.
- freeze frames are a good idea during narration!
- why doesn’t Jeremy have a bandage during the bar scene? It makes it confusing for later when he says that his cut on his head is gone.
- looooove the doctor scene. Really interesting idea to show that. I love how surreal and scary it is and that you didn’t do a conventional doctor set up. Great idea!
- don’t worry about the bar scene going in and out of focus. I think it adds to its surreality. This video is so strange so that it gives you room to play around with things that didn’t come out how you wanted them to. Look at those parts as an opportunity to experiment and work with what you have!
This is coming together really well and I’m excited to see the missing parts which will help tie things together more! Congrats!
FROM JOE
Hey Prince. This is a great start. I love the editing, and I think you have directed your actors well. I need to see the rest of it to understand if it flows as a piece.
Specific notes
Need to do voice over for restaurant.Jeremy's voice is too low.
Lose camera buzz in 2nd scene.
Fight scene? It wasn't clear that he was fighting someone in the beginning.
FROM STUDENTS
Love the profanity.
Love the doctor part
I don’t think you gave an example of any powers before chuck Norris
Rippling transition between flashbacks? Make more of a transition.
Love Jeremy as narrator.
Great ideas. Like how you switch from color to B/W. Very effective
Like when guys are jargon.
Hi Prince - Most of my comments are already captured by Joe/Lenora/the class, but I wanted to chime in and say GREAT GREAT work so far. You are a talented editor and, like Joe said, you've clearly directed your actors well.
Love the opening scene
I think you could trim the interaction where Jeremy/Evan talk about their lunch plans
Make a better distinction between flashbacks and reality
Love love the freeze frame as a narrative tool!
I can't wait to see how it develops! Keep it up, Prince.
