About to weeks ago a watched a documentary called "I Am A Sex Addict" by Caveh Zahedi and although the subject of my piece is going to be quite different from this one, i would like to borrow elements of its format for my documentrary. The filmmaker combines narrative, and reality, and stretches the truth in order to make it entertaining and dramatic. It takes its audience on a journey a long with its narrator.

I am still interested in pursuing the same idea using this similiar format.

This piece is very personal to me, and I want it to show personal journey as did this film. I have been working on a script which outlines the main idea and includes the opening narration, which is a similiar style to the beginning of this film. It is spoken in the present tense, reflecting back on the period of my life I am currently in, and transitions into the interviews. I want to re-create some of the stories I may hear in my interviews, in the way that Caveh Zahedi re-creates the stories he tells from his life. My opening narration concentrates on my current state of mind, being unsure of what I want to do, feeling stuck and behind, being unsure about my future, and the laziness which kicks in during senior year. It is humorous and explains my reasons for wanting to conduct the interviews, in order to attempt to discover some sort of reassurance and gain wisdom from those who have gone through the same type of experiences.

I plan to take out equipment today in order to start the interviewing process, and hopefully I will get a chance to continue working on my script. (I'm not quite ready to post it yet.)
