More Video Project Stuff
Alright, so I've fine-tuned my video idea a bit. I want to take away the idea of death, and just make one character leave. I think it'll be easier to work with that without stepping into dangerous territory. Because of that, I'm also changing the relationship between the two characters. I think I want it to be an older/younger sister relationship, instead of just two friends. It makes more sense that they would eventually separate, with college/moving out/ect. I also think it would be a bit more challenging to write for, which will hopefully mean it comes out as a more engaging piece.
Audio Project 2011: "Tension"
This is my audio project for Fast Forward 2011. I chose to do a piece playing with how sound builds tension, especially in relation to dialogue. I created a soundscape to build upon and mimic the rising tension of a conversation between a brother and sister. As the conversation reaches its climax, the sounds become most intense.
Composition exercise
This was a picture I did for an exercise on composition in Fast Forward. It came out a lot better than I thought!
New project idea
Okay, so I was talking with my dad, and I realized that the documentary I was thinking of doing won't be possible. The budget cuts will be finalized by the end of this month, and that won't be enough time to make a film. So I'm scrapping the idea. Luckily, I had a dream last night that gave me a really good idea...
Goals for 08-09
This being my first year in Fast Forward, my goals are fairly straightforward. I hope to at least get a good handle on the film equipment, and also get better at editing the film. Artistically, I hope to get better at expressing myself through film. I also want to find out what kind of film I make best, and what part of me directly influences my films, so i can make use of that knowledge. If I know what part of me goes into my films, I can work more towards those parts.
First entry!
So I've started at Fast Forward. Yay!
Anyways, I suppose my goal is to learn to better express myself through film and how to use the equipment to its full potential.
As for what I did today, Spencer and I finished the script on the political ad and did the voiceovers. We had originally recorded in the bathroom, but there was waaay to much echo. Also, it was a little awkward to have people going to the bathroom while we were recording audio.... So we moved to the soundroom and did some successful recording there. Next up is the actual filming, I guess.
