How it Works
You have an idea for a film, but you need a little money and guidance to make it work. You submit a grant proposal using our application form letting us know what you want to produce and how. If your proposal is chosen by the selection committee, you will pick a mentor from our [mentor roster]. Then you're off... You will post updates to icateens.org on your production along the way while receiving encouragement and guidance from your mentor. When the piece is finished, it will be screened along with other work from this program.
Proposals: What We're Looking For
You will submit to us via our application form:
• a one-paragraph description or treatment of the piece you will be producing, along with supporting documents if you have them (script, storyboards, etc.)
• the timeline for production
• a budget (minimum $50, maximum $100), specifying how requested funds will be used
• an artist statement and biography
The selection committee will make its decision based on your proposal. How feasible is your project? Does it show artistic merit? Is it clear? Does it demonstrate integrity? In other words, the committee will not fund any piece that degrades, denounces, or defames anyone or anything.
